Pastor Dave Thomas
Dave is a Valleys Boy - Born and bred.
Married to Ps Ruth - they have 3 kids, 1 Dog and Cat.
After Highschool attended Elim Bible College - became a Youth Pastor, in Hanley then Redditch, in 2000 he trained as a Primary School Teacher and did this for almost 15 years. In 2016 Dave felt a call back in to the ministry and has been at River Church in Pontllanfraith ever since.
Pastor Ruth Thomas
Pastor Ruth hails from County Cork in Ireland.
She married to Ps Dave, and between them they have 3 adult(ish) children.
She is a qualified nurse and has worked most of her professional life in Occupational Health.
Ruth is in the final term of her ministerial training and graduates in May of this year. She is a qualified counsellor and head up this ministry at River Church.
Sylvia & Adrian Pritchard - Elders
Sylvia and Adrian are pillars of the church in Pontllanfriath. They have been part of the fabric of the church since the 1970s, and have served in every area of the church throughout this time,
They are great ambassadors for the church, and the are a great encouragement to all who know them.
Victor and Elizabeth Owens - Elders
Vic and Liz - are a real blessing to River Church. They have been in some form of Christian ministry for all of their adult lives. They joined us back in 2018.
They have an international ministry, travelling to Argentina, Indonesia, and Alaska on an annual basis.... and other locations as the Lord leads! (We are only a little jealous!)
Seren Thomas - Youth & Kids Pastor
Seren is our youth and children's pastor. Working part time for the church and studying part time at Missio Dei (AOG Bible College) for a degree in Theology and Christian Ministry.
She is engaged to Tom - and is planning on becoming Seren Williams by the end of 2025.
Tara Rough - Operations Manager
Tara accidentally became our operations manager by volunteering for one day a week. We let her in and haven't let her back out. Tara has a professional background in industry managing sizeable projects, teams, and budgets.
She is Married to Andrew and they have 4 adult children (2 sets of twins!!!) and a growing brood of grandchildren.
